This past June my dad retired after 40 years at the same company. He started as a bookkeeper in his 20's and worked his way up to Senior Vice President. He worked hard and traveled a lot when I was growing up, so it will be nice to have him home to spend time with my kids. Even though he has already told me he wasn't going to be my personal babysitter. He says he has stuff to do like golf, fish, and check his stocks! HAHA!

Kindergarten Graduation
Bryce completed Kindergarten this year. We were so proud of him. He looked so handsome all dressed up with his cap on. I took pictures of all the kids in my cap and gown. It's scary to think that Senior Year will be here before we know it.....

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Bryce and Braeden have been playing baseball a ton this spring. Braeden is playing for the FBBA All Stars and has tournaments almost every weekend. Next week we are off to Rowlett. Fun! He is doing pretty good - they have won 2 tournaments so far. He has been playing mostly pitcher, 1st base, and sometimes catcher. Bryce played machine pitch. He was scared at first when the ball would come flying out of the machine, but finally by the last game he hit the ball off the machine not off the tee! GO BRYCE!

Mother's Day
This year for Mother's Day - Matt and the boys got me my favorite bouquet of flowers - Tulips! They were so beautiful. They also got me a little "MOM" diamond necklace. We went to the Grand Lux in the Galleria for breakfast. The french toast is so yummy there. We took my mom to Applebees the next day and the boys gave their present to Matt's mom later in the week because of all the baseball madness! I'm so lucky to be a mom to my sweet boys - I love them so much!!!

Feeding the Ducks
We met my parents for a picnic lunch over at their workplace. Their building is on a mini lake with ducks. The kids had a great time - I think the ducks were a little full of bread by the time they were done feeding them. Grant had fun running all around. We were afraid he was going to end up in the lake - instead Bryce lost his Croc. My dad had to fish it out with a stick! Phew....those babies were 30 bucks.
Grant's Cast
Grant fractured his femur back in April. It happened at his daycare while playing with a soccer ball. He apparently tripped and landed on it wrong. We took him to the ER and they immediately performed a closed reduction of the femur on him. It was so scary to see your 2 year old put under for 2 hours....Anyway, they put a Spica Cast on him from the waist down one leg and 1/2 of the other leaving a small hole for a diaper. It was so miserable changing his diapers. There was so much urine and poop soaked in that he was developing a horrible rash due to the acid and the fiber glass from the cast. By the end of the week he was in so much pain and uncomfortable we took him to the ER again and then finally ended up at Children's where they performed another closed reduction and put a brand new cast on him. This time he fit in his car seat, stroller, and high chair. They even lined it with special lining to keep away the urine and poop from his skin. There was a handy dandy stick for me to lift and carry him by since the darn cast weighed so much. He was in the cast about 5 weeks and went to physical therapy for 2. We go back in August to see how everything is healing! It was a struggle when he first got the cast off - walked around like a drunken sailor, but he is running around now like a little boy! It was an ordeal, but Grant was a real trooper through the whole thing! We are so lucky that nothing worse happened.
